Service Terms.

These terms govern every service booked with HarborLine Remodeling, LLC. Version 2026-08-01. You accept them when you check the box at booking.

1 · The agreement

These Service Terms, together with your booking configuration (the service, options, quantities, price, and appointment details you selected at checkout) and your payment receipt, form the complete agreement (the "Agreement") between you ("Customer") and HarborLine Remodeling, LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability company ("HarborLine," "we," "us"). Checking the acceptance box at booking constitutes your electronic signature and agreement under the Massachusetts Uniform Electronic Transactions Act. If any term here conflicts with a right you have under Massachusetts law that cannot be waived, the law controls.

2 · Scope of work

The work is exactly what your booking configuration describes — the service, type, size, quantity, and options you selected — performed in a workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards for non-structural residential work. Anything not stated in the configuration is excluded. HarborLine is a hands-on home improvement contractor: we do not perform structural work, roofing, additions, or electrical or plumbing beyond like-for-like fixture replacement on existing, code-compliant connections. If your job turns out to need any of those, we'll stop, tell you, and help you find the right licensed trade — with a fair adjustment or refund for work not performed.

3 · Price, deposit & payment

Your configured price is fixed for the scope booked. For jobs totaling $1,000 or less, full payment is collected at booking. For jobs over $1,000, a deposit of one-third of the total is collected at booking — never more, per M.G.L. c. 142A — and the balance is due upon substantial completion of the work, payable by card, check, or electronic payment. Balances more than 10 days past due may accrue interest at 1% per month or the maximum permitted by law, whichever is less. Special-order materials, where we agree in writing to supply them, may be invoiced when ordered.

4 · Your three-day right to cancel

You may cancel this Agreement without penalty by notifying HarborLine in writing (email is fine) at any time before midnight of the third business day after booking. If you cancel within that window, we will refund all payments within 10 business days. If you ask us to begin work within that window and we do, you agree that you will owe the reasonable value of work actually performed if you then cancel.

5 · Rescheduling & later cancellation

After the three-day window: reschedule free with 48 hours' notice — just reply to your confirmation email. Cancellations more than 48 hours before the appointment are refunded in full. Cancellations within 48 hours are refunded 50% of amounts paid. Same-day cancellations and no-shows (including inability to access the property at the scheduled time) forfeit amounts paid up to the value of the reserved time. Weather, illness, or an emergency on our side always reschedules at no cost to you, at the earliest mutually workable date.

6 · Scheduling, access & site readiness

We confirm your appointment within 24 hours of booking. You agree to provide safe access to the work area at the scheduled time; working utilities (power, water, heat as relevant); a work area cleared of furniture and belongings unless the booking includes moving them; and an adult (18+) present or reachable by phone during the work. If we arrive and cannot reasonably begin — no access, area not cleared, customer materials missing or wrong — a $95 trip fee applies and the visit is rescheduled.

7 · Customer-supplied materials

Unless an option in your configuration says we supply them, you supply the major materials (doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, trim, paint) — correct, complete, on site, and undamaged by the start of work. We install what you provide; we are not responsible for defects, warranty claims, or performance of customer-supplied materials, and manufacturer warranties are yours to pursue. We supply and include consumables: fasteners, caulk, shims, adhesives, and prep sundries.

8 · Change orders & concealed conditions

Older homes hide things. If we open up the work and find concealed conditions — rot, water damage, mold, pests, prior improper work, out-of-square or out-of-level framing beyond normal tolerance — we stop, show you, and give you a written change-order price (email suffices) before doing anything extra. No additional work happens and no additional cost accrues without your written approval. If you decline the change order and the original scope cannot reasonably be completed as configured, we complete what can be done and equitably adjust the price for the remainder.

9 · Lead paint & hazardous materials

Work that disturbs painted surfaces in homes built before 1978 is performed in accordance with EPA and Massachusetts lead-safe renovation rules. If we encounter suspected asbestos, significant mold, or other hazardous materials, we stop work in the affected area immediately; abatement by a licensed specialist is your responsibility and outside this Agreement. Time lost is rescheduled, not charged.

10 · Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for one (1) year from completion: if our installation fails under normal residential use, we repair or redo it at no charge. This warranty excludes customer-supplied materials; normal wear, settling, and seasonal wood movement; damage from misuse, neglect, moisture events, or alterations by others; and cosmetic issues not reported within 30 days of completion. This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, any rights you have under Massachusetts law, including the implied warranty of workmanlike performance.

11 · Insurance, registration & permits

HarborLine Remodeling, LLC carries general liability insurance and is registered as a Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor; our registration number appears on your booking confirmation and is available any time on request. Most work we perform is non-structural and does not require a building permit; where a permit is required, we obtain it before work begins. Notice: homeowners who secure their own permits are excluded from access to the Massachusetts Guaranty Fund under M.G.L. c. 142A. All home improvement contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation; inquiries about a contractor's registration status, and information about the Guaranty Fund and the state-sponsored arbitration program, are available from that office.

12 · Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HarborLine's total liability arising out of the work is limited to the amounts you paid under this Agreement, and neither party is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including lost use or lost income). This section does not limit liability for personal injury, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any liability or consumer right that Massachusetts law (including c. 93A and c. 142A) does not permit to be limited.

13 · Photos

We may photograph the work area before, during, and after for documentation. We will not use photos in marketing without asking you first, and never with identifying details of your home's location.

14 · Disputes

Talk to us first — most issues are fixable with a phone call, and we answer ours. Unresolved disputes are governed by Massachusetts law with venue in the state courts of Plymouth County, Massachusetts. You may also have the right to pursue the state-sponsored arbitration program under M.G.L. c. 142A. Nothing here limits your rights under M.G.L. c. 93A.

15 · General

This Agreement is the entire agreement for the booked work and supersedes prior discussions. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. You may not assign this Agreement without our consent; we may use qualified helpers under our direct, on-site supervision but do not subcontract the work. Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond reasonable control; the schedule extends accordingly. Notices go to tim@harborlineremodeling.com or to the email you booked with.
